Synth driven nostalgia might very well be my favorite type of nostalgia. Maybe it’s my love of the 80′s, but once those slow swirling, dreamy glistening synths hit my ears, I’m a lost soul floating in utter bliss. Los Angeles based artist Kelsey Bulkin, formerly one half of Made In Heights, has debuted a brand new single titled West Coast Drama, and it oozes that aforementioned synthwavey melancholy. In fact, this gorgeously glimmering, lithesome twirling aria is like Twin Peaks’ legendary soundtrack paired with the delicate poignancy of WET. Kelsey Bulkin self produced both West Coast Drama and her debut solo single Andromeda over the summer. It’s quite a year for the artist, as she’s also been featured as a guest songwriter and vocalist on ODESZA’s Divide, off their sophomore album A Moment Apart. You can also stream her solo music via Spotify, here.
