Fast-rising production talent, apze, returns with another excellent electronic original with his latest single, “Darkness.”
“Darkness” sees apze continue to build on his own growing sound, which started as a deep/melodic house sound and has since evolved to feature a unique approach to future bass, incorporating minimalist string melodies with an excellent use of vocal chopping effects with subtle, yet effective future-inspired wobble synths in the drop/chorus sections. The breakdowns/verses are also quite catchy, with apze setting the tone for the track with emotional piano chord progressions and wonderful female vocals. The Denmark-based talent never disappoints, and “Darkness” is another step in the right direction for this budding producer who is mastering his craft. Brisbane-based production/DJ talent, Shake Chilli, returns with another excellent original entitled “My House Party.”
Inspired by the many house parties attended by Shake Chilli, “My House Party” combines floor-filling energy with unique top line synth work to create a fun and very playable trap sound. The drum tracks roll smoothly and provide an excellent foundation for the track alongside strong basslines while Shake Chilli layers the top half of the track with party-ready, top line melodies that are used interchangeably as the track progresses, leaving the listeners guessing as to what comes next, while maintaining an energy that will surely set any club, party, or festival into a frenzy. Budding L.A.-based singer/songwriter and production talent, Simone, returns with a fresh pop sound for Spring with her latest release, “Little Bit.”
The press release states that “Little Bit” is a “poignant and powerful message that the beauty of life is indeed found in the everyday battles,” and we couldn’t agree more with this sentiment and description for this track.
Upbeat, vibrant, and incredibly catchy, “Little Bit” showcases Simone’s addicting vocal talents that we first came to love on her previous release, “Neon,” above a danceable, Spring-ready instrumental. Simone’s vocals are always at the forefront of this fresh indie pop sound, allowing this rising talent to really display her abilities and infect your mind with her fun-loving sound. Although this track was released last year, we were just recently introduced to it and were really impressed with both the songwriting and production quality from budding producer, PineHaven, on his original release, “Tell Me,” featuring Lilianna Wilde on vocals.
With a smooth, chilled out approach, PineHaven and Lilianna combine for a really fresh electronic sound that crosses into radio friendly territory due to it’s addicting vocals and melodies. We begin with a mellow intro and first verse before PineHaven transitions us swiftly to the first drop/chorus section which maintains the laidback vibe through an impressive blend of vocal chop melodies, subtle chord progressions, and smooth drum tracks. The second break keeps the track moving with another great verse from Liliana before a second drop/chorus section is introduced that transitions effortlessly to an awesome outro section laced with more addicting melodies. Budding production talent, octo17, drops off a stellar, synth-driven electronic original with his release, “coming back.”
Dark, moody, distorted, and atmospheric, “coming back” is an awesome journey of electronic music, flowing effortlessly through almost 4 minutes of gritty synths, heavy drum tracks, and bass-heavy brilliance. I haven’t really heard a track like this before, so it makes it difficult to really nail down a genre for this one, but it’s this original direction and songwriting that I appreciate most, with octo17 breaking through the molds of modern electronic production sequences and formats to make something distinct, unique, and seriously impressive. If you’re a fan of the heavier side of electronic music, this track is for you. Be sure to stream “coming back” here and grab your free download below:
