With a sound that is driven by it’s melodies, “Astral” is a really beautiful piece of music from Cosmic Elegy. The first half flows with glistening melodies playfully dancing above smooth drum tracks and warm textures. Things really pick up as we approach the second half of the track, with Cosmic Elegy eventually transitioning us seamlessly to a smooth future bass/chillstep hybrid sound that rounds out a particularly charming and inspiring release. GR∆Y MATTER – Reach (Original Mix)

Budding production talent,

GR∆Y MATTER, delivers an inspiring original track entitled “Reach” for the 2018 Insomniac Discovery Project.

GR∆Y MATTER’s production quality has certainly grown over the past year, and “Reach” really marks a great next step in this producer’s journey. With a unique and clean chill trap approach that also features slight dubstep elements, “Reach” features some stellar atmospheres, deep basslines which form powerful emotions, and excellent drum tracks in the drop sections that keep the track flowing brilliantly through almost four minutes of soaring bliss. My personal favorite sections include the intro and the breakdown in the middle of the track, which really pack in the emotions and define this track’s ambiance. Altogether, this is a really awesome release from

GR∆Y MATTER and a must hear as we approach the weekend. Stream now and be sure to drop

dwilly – ADD Feat. Emilia Ali (SO CALLED Remix)

Budding production/DJ duo, SO CALLED, step up and deliver an incredible remix of dwilly and Emilia Ali’s track, “ADD,” for the Splice remix contest.

As with any remix contest, we’ve heard a ton of remixes from up and coming talents of “ADD” so far, but SO CALLED’s remix is definitely among the best. As a track of “firsts” for the duo which features live guitar for the first time in their production careers, SO CALLED is able to keep the breaks/verses chilled and minimal in structure, creating a smooth platform that allows Emilia Ali’s vocals to really shine. Flowing smoothly to the builds, we’re eventually dropped into fresh trap-inspired sounds with energetic drum tracks layering the bottom half of the track while screeching synth melodies dance playfully along the top. Altogether, this is yet another impressive track from SO CALLED and a must hear as we head into the midweek. Be sure to stream this jam here and vote for the remix in the Splice contest below:

Seapora – Traveling (Urple Eeple Remix)

Taking on Seapora’s downtempo original, “Traveling,” Oakland-based production talent, Urple Eeple, drops off a smooth future remix that helps make this track his own.

With the overpowering sound of loud and shiny, pop-influenced future bass wobble synths taking over the genre, it’s always great to hear an artist deliver a future track that really sounds original and like it’s from.. the future. Urple Eeple does just that with this remix, delivering an inspiring sound driven by luscious synths, an excellent use of vocal chopping, impressive drum tracks that have helped me remember why I first fell in love with this genre. Speaking about this remix, Urple Eeple has said:

“I always love taking a song and turning it into something completely different – it can be like a complete rebirth.”

Not only is the remix a rebirth and fresh spin of the original track, but hopefully a rebirth of more unique and delicate future-inspired productions. Be sure to stream this gem here and grab your free download below:

apze – Darkness

Fast-rising production talent, apze, returns with another excellent electronic original with his latest single, “Darkness.”

“Darkness” sees apze continue to build on his own growing sound, which started as a deep/melodic house sound and has since evolved to feature a unique approach to future bass, incorporating minimalist string melodies with an excellent use of vocal chopping effects with subtle, yet effective future-inspired wobble synths in the drop/chorus sections. The breakdowns/verses are also quite catchy, with apze setting the tone for the track with emotional piano chord progressions and wonderful female vocals. Br!ss – Gratitude

Rising production talent, Br!ss, delivers a smooth blend of chill trap and future bass in his latest original, “Gratitude.”

This is the first track that we’ve personally heard from Br!ss, but we were definitely impressed with both his songwriting and production quality. Weaving unique lead melodies with shouting horn stabs, vocal chop melodies, rolling hi-hats, and a strong low-end, Br!ss is able to deliver an uplifting blend of chill trap and future bass that puts the melodics first, conveying powerful emotions. I really like the fact that Br!ss has kept the breakdowns short in this track, allowing the energy to continue flowing from start to finish. Lauv – I Like Me Better (SuperJet Remix)

Fast-rising New York-based duo, SuperJet, returns with a fresh future bass remix of Lauv’s hit, “I Like Me Better.”

This is a track that many up-and-coming producers have remixed already, but I feel that SuperJet’s is among the best I’ve heard. The verse sections feature some serious chord progressions underneath the original’s vocals before we’re transitioned to some strong, effective build ups. SuperJet takes us higher before we’re dropped into two exciting, energetic, and melodic future bass drops that are perfectly produced, making for a really quality remix of this hit. PineHaven – Tell Me Feat. Lilianna Wilde

Although this track was released last year, we were just recently introduced to it and were really impressed with both the songwriting and production quality from budding producer, PineHaven, on his original release, “Tell Me,” featuring Lilianna Wilde on vocals.

With a smooth, chilled out approach, PineHaven and Lilianna combine for a really fresh electronic sound that crosses into radio friendly territory due to it’s addicting vocals and melodies. We begin with a mellow intro and first verse before PineHaven transitions us swiftly to the first drop/chorus section which maintains the laidback vibe through an impressive blend of vocal chop melodies, subtle chord progressions, and smooth drum tracks. The second break keeps the track moving with another great verse from Liliana before a second drop/chorus section is introduced that transitions effortlessly to an awesome outro section laced with more addicting melodies.
